Civic Theatre

Team of the year, aka Team Civic Theatre, let us transform the * entire * building! But let’s back track a little, so we can explain…

PROjECT timeline:

August 2023 - December 2023

PROJECT SCOPE:

  • Branding identity refresh

  • Branding implementation

  • Envirographics

TEAM:

As well as being allowed to wrap the building (balcony, windows, entrance, and automatic doors) in neon envirographics, the Civic Theatre’s Season 2024 brand identity features an energetic colour palette that drew inspiration from the heart of the region's natural landscape and dynamic arts community.

The Season 2024 brand identity burst into life through an innovative co-design process that placed the creative community at the heart of creative development.

The theme, ‘heart beat of the city,’ needed to be bold, impactful and bridge traditional theatre values with contemporary design.

Our approach allowed stakeholders to witness the evolution of concepts and contribute meaningful insights that shaped the final outcome - even kids of the staff had a crack at drawing icons that appeared throughout the collateral!

We’re pretty chuffed to have been able to create a distinctive visual presence that resonated deeply with both existing patrons and new audiences.

It is rare to find someone who can seamlessly blend creativity, professionalism, and approachability like Rach Viski from Minta Viski. Rach is a true design genius and working with her on our 2024 Theatre Season collateral has been an absolute joy. From the start, the process was clear, friendly, and exceptionally organised. She took our excited (and sometimes outlandish) ideas and turned them into a cohesive and striking visual identity for the year.

Rach’s communication style is transparent, insightful, and tailored to the different strengths and preferences within our team. Her use of innovative technological systems ensured that communication was always open, and projects stayed on schedule. But what really stood out was how Rach took the time to understand not just our brand personality and goals but also our quirky, creative ideas—integrating them into the design process in a way that made us feel truly involved.

One of the highlights was seeing our own illustrations come to life in the final design, which was both beautiful and functional. The digital and printed assets she delivered were outstanding, and we also received easy-to-use templates that kept our brand consistent throughout the year.

The impact of her work was visible not just in the stunning design itself but in the way it transformed our physical space and the general mood in the house. The bright, bold decals wrapping our building had a beautiful affect, and our audience couldn’t stop talking about it. As one customer remarked, “I can see the graphics on your building from miles away. What an amazing impact!”

Rach is the complete package—creative, detail-oriented, organised, and a pro communicator. Even more than that, she is an incredibly likeable person and a pleasure to be around. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome, and we would not hesitate to recommend her. Top marks for everything!
