As proud Riverina locals, we’ve been market goers for as long as we can remember picking up our first bag of crystals in a lucky dip.
Now, it’s more about the discovery that comes from wandering the stalls.
River and Wren is more than just a market. They’re part of the Riverina community and provide opportunities to locals, businesses, not-for-profits and charities.
Some traders are crafting a livelihood out of their passions, testing the waters of a new business idea or making money from a favourite hobby. Others are local groups and charities raising awareness and funds for important causes.
The belief is in creating a space where people are welcome.
A space where they can meet new people, connect with family and friends, and share stories.
There’s something special about buying directly from the makers at River and Wren Market.
Take it from us, our mini-Minta friend had a market stall there recently, so we got to see first-hand what it’s like behind the scenes.
Hearing the traders stories, enjoying their craftsmanship and connecting with the inspiration behind their unique products. is a chance to disconnect from the fast pace of mass production.
We were able to reflect that pace by drawing inspiration from Wiradjuri Country, the place the market is held six times year.
Market manager, Emma, was also able to inform the visual direction by sharing a special piece of artwork she’d been gifted.
The story behind the artwork, the texture, the whimsy, and the visual details within formed a pretty special starting point for all that followed.
